Bio

My name is Abdul Nassoro Mwakare, a 22-year-old Kenyan student at Pwani University pursuing a degree in education with a focus on mathematics and computer studies. As a third-year student, I am also a trained peer counselor at the university, assisting the counseling sessions to support fellow students in overcoming their challenges. Driven by my passion for counseling and mentorship, I engage in volunteer activities during my university breaks. I conduct mentorship sessions in both high schools and primary schools, aiming to guide students through topics such as mental health, drug abuse, career choices, and academic excellence. Drawing from my own experiences as a student, I understand the struggles young people face and aspire to make a positive impact on their lives. I have visited various schools like Tiwi Girls', Kaya Tiwi High School, Magombani secondary school and Kingwede Girls' High School, along with other universities students such as Kenyatta University, to share stories and insights. Additionally, I organize social media awareness campaigns on important days like World Mental Health Day and Valentine's Day to address issues like stress, depression, and suicide prevention. My ultimate goal is to establish "Rising Stars Mentorship," an association focused on empowering and engaging youths through activities like school-based mentorship programs, career workshops, community engagements, and online consultations. All these initiatives are driven by my dedication to volunteering and giving back to society without external support.
