As the Chair of the Young Leaders Association (YOLA), I’ve worked to promote youth empowerment at KU through initiatives that encourage active student involvement and skill development. We’ve organized events like the Know Your Leader debate, which gave students a platform to express their views and connect with university leadership. Our Mawega Avocado Initiative, a climate-focused project, showcases our commitment to sustainability and provides students with hands-on experience in ecological conservation. These efforts have created a supportive environment at KU where students feel encouraged to lead, make impactful contributions, and grow as future changemakers.
