It was founded by as a Farm School in 1939 by Lord Maurice Egerton of Tatton, a British national who settled in Kenya in the 1920s. The Vision and Mission of this institution is to become: “A World Class University for the advancement of humanity” and “To generate knowledge and offer exemplary education and training to society for national and global development” respectively.
